How Simply Benefits is introducing additional benefits to members

While most benefit plans offer coverage for a variety of different kinds of benefits, not all circumstances a member might encounter are covered. Many members seek coverage for scenarios specific to the personal risks they face.

Some plans try to solve this problem by adding extra benefits, wanted by only a few, to overall plans being paid for by all. Increasing overall premiums on benefits that won’t be used by most members.

Members may also seek these benefits out on their own if unavailable through their group plan, which can get costly and confusing.

This is where Simply Benefit’s newest feature Marketplace shines.

What is Marketplace?

Marketplace gives the option to all members to purchase additional personal lines of benefit to fit their lifestyles and needs if they feel they need extra coverage. All managed through the Simply Benefits member app/portal, providing members with more control over their environments and a better user experience.

These benefits are member paid, as such if a member chooses to purchase a benefit the group’s benefit premiums will remain unchanged.

Navigating

Marketplace is easily accessible through the Simply Benefits Member Portal / App

Members need simply navigate to the home screen of their Member Portal / App, scroll down on the menu bar and click the shopping basket icon labelled “Marketplace”

The marketplace page provides all information on:

  1. Available products

    voluntary_benefits_item_info

Members can download virtual brochures for extensive information on each line of benefit

  1. Your Products

    An active list of products a member has purchased and are active.
  1. Transaction History

Members can see all transactions on their account surrounding their marketplace purchases.

 

Current Marketplace Options include:

  1. Cyberboxx/Home

Everyone is vulnerable to harmful malware or cyber-attacks trying to gain access to your private information and property online. Cyberboxx/Home provides services to help avoid and provide financial assistance from the effects of

    1. Cyber Fraud
    2. Cyber Extortion
    3. Cyberbullying
    4. Data Breaches
  1. Voluntary CI

We can’t control every aspect of our health and it’s impossible to know what may happen. This benefit provides a lump sum payment for eligible members diagnosed with any of the illnesses covered under the Allstate schedule of benefits. Providing financial security in the event you encounter financial struggle due to critical illness. Voluntary CI is available one month from eligibility.

All voluntary benefits will become effective on the 1st of the following month after purchase.

Marketplace is a great way for members to shop for extra coverage they feel they would benefit from while also being a great tool employers can use to offer more benefit to members without paying extra premiums on benefits. Ensuring members of your group are aware of the new benefits available to them maximizes the positive impact provided by personalized options.
