Who we are
We’re a Kelowna based benefits and technology company improving the health benefits experience for employers, insurers and, well, everybody! We build digital solutions to provide members with fast, easy and thoughtful benefits experiences. Our team embraces autonomy, complexity and a connection between effort and reward as three qualities that foster a truly satisfying career, and strive to separate ourselves from the corporate herd.
What we’re looking for
This is a Kelowna-based high-impact, hybrid role for an experienced technical professional who thrives on operational autonomy and direct system ownership. We need an administrator who can seamlessly balance backend infrastructure management (especially the Microsoft ecosystem) with providing exceptional, in-person support. Given our dual role as a software company and a licensed Employee Benefits TPA, the ideal candidate understands that robust IT security and compliance are paramount to business operations. You will be the company’s primary IT resource.
Who you are
You're a problem-solver who loves helping people and a technical leader that operates with a deep sense of ownership over the success of IT systems. You like to simplify and automate systems and excel at translating complex technical challenges into clear, actionable terms for non-technical staff. You are a proactive planner who looks ahead, providing critical insight.
What you’ll do
You will manage the entire operational IT stack, ensuring the security, availability, and performance of systems across our Kelowna and Ontario offices. This role involves executing essential systems administration, managing the user lifecycle, and providing reliable support while contributing to technical strategy.
Duties will vary but will include:
Manage, secure, and administer core services including Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Slack, Atlassian, Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive.
Implement and maintain endpoint configuration and compliance using Microsoft Intune.
Provide timely in-person desktop support in Kelowna and remote support for our Ontario team.
Lead the technical process for efficient user onboarding, offboarding, and access rights management.
Maintain and troubleshoot minimal local network hardware, VPN and internet connectivity.
Manage IT asset inventory, software licensing, and act as the primary technical contact for external IT vendors.
What you need
5+ years of progressive experience in IT Systems Administration or a related technical role.
Proven ability to provide effective hands-on desktop and remote technical support.
Associate-level administration experience with the Microsoft Ecosystem (Entra ID/Azure AD, M365, Intune).
Foundational knowledge of IT security principles and data privacy requirements
Practical experience managing local network components (switches, WAPs) and vendor communication.
Great to have
Programming and database management skills
